Inforum 2017 returns to the Big Apple in less than three weeks and we’re ready for it. Are you?
Whether this is your first time or you’ve been attending since the show was named CUE, you’re likely navigating a packed schedule, numerous meetings, party invites, and other commitments. We want you to have the best conference experience ever, so here are some tips to help:
Don’t skip the Starbucks! This goes against traditional trade show wisdom of staying hydrated and passing on caffeinated products, but let’s face it, it’s easier to pay attention when you’re alert. For your convenience, there’s a Starbucks located on the main level at the Javits Center.
Stay comfortable – sport sneakers. The Javits Center boasts 840,000 square feet of exhibition space. A few laps around the show floor to various sessions, vendor booths and the lunch buffet, and you’ll log a mile or two of walking by the end of the day. You don’t have to forgo fashion for comfort!
Stay out of the red zone. Remember your phone charger. Long day at the convention center, limited Wi-Fi access and constant use of your device to check schedules, post updates and connect with team members will drain your battery life. There are dedicated charging stations throughout the show floor, but we’re also happy to charge your device in our booth while you learn about Avaap Test Automation, Requisition Dashboard, Security Dashboard and our software delivery.
Get out and explore! If you want to live like a local, take a walk or bike ride on the High Line, go for drinks on the water at The Frying Pan (8 blocks south of the center), or cab it to the outdoor Standard Biergarten on Washington Street. You’re in the city that never sleeps. Take advantage of it!
Plan your schedule. There are so many great sessions on the agenda. Take the time to plan your priorities so you don’t miss important information or time with key contacts. Also plan enough time to get from your hotel to the convention center. New York is notorious for traffic!
Attend the general session. In 2014, the opening session kicked off with a spice jazz marching band, last year Pam Murphy rode in on a Triumph and we’re anticipating this year’s kick off to be just as fabulous (and not only because Avaap CEO Dhiraj Shah will be on the main stage). Our favorite part of the general session: getting a firsthand look at the latest in design thinking, digital transformation, adjacent innovation, science and big data, machine learning, and Infor CloudSuites.
Grab some lip balm. Good tradeshow behavior requires a lot of listening, but there’s a lot of talking when you’re in a room with more than 7,000 peers. We know that dry lips are a common tradeshow complaint which is why we selected to brand some lip balms as one of our give-away items at this year’s event.
