CLIENT Overview
Columbus Regional Healthcare System (CRHS) is a community healthcare system located in Whiteville, North Carolina, serving the healthcare needs of the local and regional community. CRHS boasts an impressive and highly trained medical staff and other healthcare professionals who represent a range of specialties and are dedicated to the well-being of every patient.
The Challenge
Columbus Regional Healthcare System recognized the need for transformation and embarked on a five-year strategic roadmap to align its technology with the hospital’s clinical focus, including the plan to implement a new electronic health record (EHR). CRHS sought third-party expertise and partnered with Avaap to provide a review and analysis of the strategic roadmap as it related to their information technology future.
Later, CRHS expanded the relationship to leverage Avaap’s advisory services in support of selecting the new EHR and ensuring it aligned to the hospital’s vision. Avaap played a key role in the system evaluation process that led to the selection of Oracle Health CommunityWorks (previously Cerner). CRHS then needed a trusted partner to lead the pre-implementation planning, transformation, implementation, stabilization, and ongoing optimization of the integrated system across the clinical and financial areas of the health system.
