You’re heading to Inforum and we know you’re not spending the entire time inside the Walter Washington Convention Center. We also know that between the education sessions, networking events, and meeting with Avaap (naturally), there is time to explore our nation’s capital.

While we’d love to take in some of the museums, botanical garden, and a tour of The Mansion on O Street, what better than some of the local restaurants to continue conversations about Infor CloudSuite and Infor Human Capital Management applications. If you’re looking for tasty eats, happening environments, and a chance to meet some of Washington’s elite, check out our guide for the best spots for business meetings, team dinners, or living like a local.

Art & Soul Super quiet and relaxing, Art and Soul exudes true Southern warmth and hospitality. Down-home delicious entrees and an al fresco dining option with a fire-pit and grill offer a fantastic location for a fast business lunch or pre-conference brunch (the scones alone are reason enough to stop in). Plenty of comfort food, Art & Soul offers unique twists on soulful classics including burgers, salads, chicken and waffles and mac and cheese.

Why we love it: The service is excellent, the patio enjoyable and if you’re hankering for shrimp ‘n grits, you won’t find better in D.C.

Jaleo You don’t have to wait for 5 p.m. to take advantage of sangria hour at Jaleo, a cozy Spanish restaurant in downtown Washington. Can’t make it to Avaap’s Barcelona office? Explore, discover, and share the delicious tastes of Spain during Inforum week.

Why we love it: Phenomenal tapas, top-notch service, incredible flan. Looking for lighter fare? Try the Espinacas a la catalana and thank us later.

Le Diplomate Harnessing the artful spirit of a Parisian brasserie, Le Diplomate offers an extensive menu featuring a variety of Gallic classics, including onion soup gratinée, steak frites and escargots, as well as daily plates such as bouillabaisse and cassoulet.  The bistro is consistently packed with a mix of politicians, hipsters, lobbyists and socialites including prolific restaurant goers Michele and Barack Obama.

Why we love it: Le Diplomate is more than the food; it’s about the experience. Request your reservation in the green-tiled garden room. The floor-to-ceiling glass doors are sure to be open in September!

Pizzeria Paridoso If the crust is important to you, you’ll love the slices at Pizzeria Parisoso. Inside the wood burning oven, tomato sauce of quality, cheese that’s delicious, and fresh herbs from the garden meld with high quality olive oil and vibrant toppings for the perfect pizza. No surprise Pizzeria Paridoso is consistently ranked among the finest restaurants in Washington, D.C.

Why we love it: Some might say New York City is the pizza capital of the world, but when craving a taste of Italy, the dough, sauce and cheese from this Washington staple can compete!

Rice Imaginative and innovative Thai cuisine is served against the backdrop of minimalist urban chic space in one of DC’s trendiest neighborhoods. Nestled in the design district, Rice features delicious in-house specialties and unique cocktails.

Why we love it: Whether you’re a foodie or looking for some sunshine, the outdoor sidewalk seating offers some of the best people watching in D.C.

Toki Underground Food Network favorite Toki Underground offers up addictive dishes like the Toki Classic Ramen, described by Guy Fieri as a seven course meal in a bowl. This casual, semi-hidden noodle shop always has a line, but it’s worth it.

Why we love it: If steaming hot bowls of ramen is your thing, you’ll enjoy the best of the best, but don’t stop there. The dumplings and noodles are to die for!

Zaytinya – Under the direction of celebrated Chef José Andrés and his ThinkFoodGroup team, Zaytinya offers an innovative mezze menu inspired by Turkish, Greek and Lebanese cuisines served up in a sleek and modern setting.

Why we love it: Everything is outstanding! From the cozy nooks in the dining room to the warm, friendly service, succulent lamb chops, freshly baked bread and excellent wine list, there’s nothing not to love at Zaytinya.
